Saturday, December 15 | Justice & Peace

It’s not easy to talk to one another. We stay silent and apart for many reasons. Some of us never have been invited to voice our ideas and opinions. From childhood and now as adults, we’ve been told to be quiet so other can tell us what to think. Some of us are used to meetings to discuss ideas, but then these meetings degenerate into people shouting, stomping out angrily, taking over control of the agenda or simply putting up a front and talking about others in private. These experiences leave us feeling hesitant to speak.

We can start by listening… one of the easiest healing acts is to simply listen to someone. Simply listen. Not advising or coaching, but fully listening.

Try on listening today. Experiment with receiving what someone else has to say.
